The Top 3 Most Beautiful Places to Visit in Colorado
We don’t have the most notable museums in the world, “Broadway” isn’t exactly in our vocabulary here and our art exhibits have a little to be desired (except the artistic carvings out of sand at the Colorado Great Sand Dunes).
What we do have is a state filled with 1,000’s of more interesting things to see and do outdoors than any other state and the best part is, its all free.
Sometimes the hardest part of getting outside and getting moving is finding people to go do it with. ShareThePeak.com is a site that, like Colorado, provides awesome resources for people and NEVER changes for use. Sign up and make a plan to visit one of the top three most beautiful spots in CO (in no particular order).
#3 Aspen
We recommend visiting Aspen in the winter when the skiing is the best. But that’s not all that Aspen has to offer. After spending the day on the slopes, head into town and explore the historical main street that offers street-side vendors, authentic foods, the opera, wine tasting and plenty of cool little shops to explore.
#2 The Royal Gorge
The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is the one must-see Colorado attraction you can’t afford to miss. The suspension bridge hangs 956 feet over the ground and is over ¼ a mile long. There is so much to do– take the the world’s highest zip line, go white water rafting, hiking, or visit the wildlife park.
#1 Great Sand Dunes National Park
Better than an art exhibit, the sand dunes are a breathtaking natural formation. They are the tallest dunes in North America, and are surrounded by grasslands, wetlands, forests and lakes. All of that translates to an amazing outdoor experience. Camp at the dunes and spend a few days hiking, backpacking and even sand snowboarding!
